Look to aid in the recovery process with a blend of transdermal magnesium, zinc & trace elements, Awesome Supplements black sheep product. An experimental product that aims to leave you with less DOMS, keep your muscles feeling fresh, and improve localised muscle recovery.
You know Awesome Supplements only focuses on products that have 100% research backing from studies conducted on humans (not rats or in petri-dishes), well, this is the one product that doesn’t. So, why are we selling it?
We believe that everything you do should be done with a basis of evidence, and we also believe that Recovery Spray has that. What it DOESN’T have, is a vast body of evidence to support it in peer reviewed journals. Magnesium oil has a lot of anecdotal evidence, white paper research and historical evidence behind it, supported by testimonials from our own customers; and to us, that’s too much to ignore.
We also want to be honest, open and up front, though, and say that while the mechanism of transdermal absorption of nutrients and substances is well supported (ever used a cream?) and while we have the above weak evidence, we do not have anything concrete which we would need to promise results from a scientific standpoint. All we can do is present what we have, and let you make an educated decision.
The benefits of magnesium and zinc, often found in the popular supplement ZMA, are far reaching when it comes to recovery and have been used for a long time in the sports nutrition world.
During intensive training and at times of stress we deplete our magnesium and zinc levels beyond that of normal day-to-day life, and we need to replace these essential nutrients to keep on top of performance and support recovery and well-being. Magnesium is the second most common deficiency in non-exercising individuals, and seeing as when you exercise you deplete magnesium due to its use in the ATP energy cycle, think how deficient exercising individuals could be?
Applying magnesium directly to the muscles in the form of a spray straight onto the skin after training seems to have an acute effect on muscle soreness. Why? We don’t quite know yet, it’s a bit of a scientific mystery so far, but we think its due to magnesium’s muscle relaxing effect. People have used ZMA for over 40 years in the fitness world to enhance recovery, now you can do this while improving muscle soreness too by using transdermal zinc and magnesium directly on your muscles.
So while you can get benefit from using oral magnesium and zinc supplements, you may be able to get the same benefit from transdermal application but, from what we see, with the added benefit of localised recovery by applying this directly to the muscles worked in training or sport. To show you how much anecdotal support we have for Recovery Spray check out the testimonials section below our research section.
Each ml of Recovery Spray provides 300mg of magnesium and 10mg zinc. Just another product helping you stay awesome every day. Apply ideally straight after training to the affected muscles from that training session.

Cyclist and gym goer
I'm a normal bloke. I work a full time job, I work out and I like my food. However I also like to cycle long distances on holiday and push myself in the gym or otherwise. This is why you should get Recovery Spray. It lets you go that bit further.
My ride this summer was 1575 odd kilometres along the Rhine river from Oberalppass in Switzerland to the Hook of Holland. It took 2 weeks and I was riding 35kgs of fully loaded bike about 100ks per day. I was camping most nights, and eating what I could fit in my panniers. But I never woke up sore and I never got a cramp, when I was using Recovery Spray post ride. I didn't use it one night on the trip, I rode the next day OK, but struggled to climb the stairs to my hostel room that evening.
I will always have a bottle of Recovery Spray in my toiletries bag from now on. It will be going on future bike trips, martial arts competitions and seminars, obstacle races, kettle bells classes and gym sessions. I will also know that I won't wake up with sore muscles, if I put it on at the end of the day (unfortunately Recovery Spray like anything good, won't work unless you use it).
Recovery Spray is awesome sauce. If you want to recover well and therefore perform optimally, get it, use it and feel the difference.
Fitness model, Miami pro champion
I applied this post workout to my lower body, I tested it and only used it on one leg so I could feel the difference the next day if there was any… Surprise, surprise, surprise there was a difference. The leg in which I had applied the solution to was less stiff then the leg in which I didn't apply the solution to.
Personal trainer & coach
From using the spray I can honestly say that I have seen benefits in the rate at which I recover from my sessions. Not only did I notice less DOMS after my sessions but my sleep improved too. Overall, good honest products that do what they say they do.
As a whole I love using the product. The Recovery Spray helps me localise my recovery exactly where I need it, which is ideal as a body builder as I don't want sore muscles if I can help it. Recovery Spray also helps with my sleep when I use it at night, I find I always have a deeper nights sleep when I use it.
Its been a few weeks now since I started using the recovery spray after my training.
I have certainly noticed positive effects after my sessions with regards to getting DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) and especially so after leg sessions.
My recovery between sessions is obviously very important especially considering that I have been doing two leg sessions a week. What really sums up the noticeable effect of the recovery spray is that I certainly noticed the DOMS in my calves and glutes after I forgot to apply the spray to these areas
To conclude, I believe this product can have a positive impact on anyone who has issues with DOMS.
Back pain injury case study
I'm passionate about keeping fit and work myself hard in the gym lifting heavy! After undertaking two fitness comps in 2013 I came away with a lower back injury that resulted in the muscles spasming around that area. I've undergone intensive Physio, had to work with my coach to change all of my routines and used various sprays on the market including some sports recovery magnesium spray and analgesia.
The Physio, analgesia and the move to more functional training methods has helped a great deal in developing a strong core, however I still had the spasms, which would result in a lot of pain and impacted on my daily life, even getting dressed in the mornings. Although I'd tried mag spray before and it didn't work I decided to give Aweosme Supplements Recovery Spray a try and I can not emphasise enough how much this has helped with relieving the spasms in my back following a training session and not forgetting the relief after using it on my legs after leg day!!
As well as all of the other interventions it's made my life so much easier, highly recommended.
I recently took part in the Three Peaks Challenge. For those that don’t know what it is, the aim is to climb the three tallest peaks in the United Kingdom in a 24 hour period – Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales. In my opinion, one of the toughest parts of this challenge isn’t actually getting up and down three mountains in 24 hours; it’s sitting in a van for 4-6 hours in between each mountain! This makes the single most important part of this challenge RECOVERY!
Enter, Awesome Supplements Recovery Spray… I was the only person from my team that used it, and I was the only person with limited muscle soreness throughout the challenge. The rest of the team struggled with cramps and soreness. As soon as I got off each mountain, I sprayed my calves, quads and glutes. It helped me make sure I was first up and first down every mountain. What has impressed me most about the product is that I was able to get back into the gym two days after completing the challenge, when a lot of my team mates were still suffering with DOMS.
I’m climbing Kilimanjaro next year and I know what the first thing on my kit list will be…
Professional football player
I have followed Ben Coomber, the owner of Awesome Supplements, online for quite some time now for nutrition and training advice. For me optimising both my diet and recovery is essential for staying injury free and being able to perform at my best level game after game. I first looked into the Recovery Spray as my season started and we had 7 games in the first month. When the games come so fast the teams that can recover the fastest are often the most successful. After the 3rd and 4th games I just felt that going into the next game I was not physically sharp, my muscles were tight and my performance was not my best.
I choose the Recovery Spray because I thought it would be ideal to use after every game to get the recovery process started as quick as possible. The long journeys home after away games mean it is difficult to get the appropriate nutrients onboard being away from my own kitchen. The spray has also been tested by HFL, which is important for me because we are drug tested throughout the season so I needed to know it was safe for me to use.
The bottle does appear small at first but we are now 15 games into the season and I am still using the first bottle. I shower and dry myself then apply the Recovery Spray although the directions recommend before the shower. After every game I spray 4/5 sprays on both calfs, hamstrings and quads and then rub the liquid in with my hands. Sometimes there is some stinging feelings because its after the shower and the pores are open, but I find this is best for me to optimise my recovery using it and it fits with my routine.
Since I have started using the spray after each game I have felt significantly fresher and less stiff the following morning. I normally have very tight muscles 2 days after a game causing me to spend most of the day on the couch, but now I feel as though I could train or play another game if needed. Adding Recovery Spray into my own recovery process has definitely increased my rate of recovery and subsequently the physical performance in my next game.
The season here in Finland is from May until October and surprisingly the weather is generally hotter than the UK during the summer months. I have always struggled with cramping in hot weather and playing in the summertime has increased that. Almost like clockwork at 65 minutes into the game my left hamstring or calf will cramp. I read somewhere online that players in the English Premier League will apply magnesium sprays at half time to any weaknesses they have in their body. So I tried using the Recovery Spray for the same purpose.
During the day games when the sun has been shining, at half time in the changing room I have been applying 2/3 sprays onto my left calf and 4/5 onto the left hamstring. We have played now 5 games when the temperature has been over 25°C and I have not cramped once. This is the first time in my career I have not struggled with cramping allowing me to play at my highest level for the entire 90 minutes. Plus it saves the coach from having to use up a substitution when I normally could not continue to play.
The Recovery Spray has been a great addition to my recovery process and I would recommend any professional athlete trying the spray who is looking to increase their rate of recovery. Also anyone who has issues with cramping during performance would definitely benefit from getting important nutrients into the muscles faster using the transdermal technology. I am very grateful for the guys designing this product, it's helped me an awful lot, thanks!
Torn calf muscle injury case study
I am not a perfectly honed “gym bod”, I am a 46 year old mum but I love exercise and find it very stress relieving as I have a busy job which also entails a lot of driving.
I was doing an outdoor circuit training class on a Saturday morning when I tore my calf muscle. It was towards the end of the class and we were doing relays up and down a grassy bank. The only way I can describe what happened is that it felt like an elastic band snapping in the back of my calf and I fell to the floor in pain. At A&E they confirmed that I had badly torn my calf muscle, gave me crutches and said that I would be out of action for some time.
I went to a sports physio / masseuse who said that I had “done a good job” of tearing my muscle, to rest up, drink plenty of water, keep off the sugar and keep putting ice on it. He said that it would take some time to recover.
By now my calf was black and blue, very painful and it was tiring getting about - I wanted to hurl the crutches. I normally exercised 5 times a week and I found not being able to move about or exercise really affected me.
I spoke to Cassia Williams, the Awesome Supplements professional athlete, who recommended that I try Recovery Spray to see if it would help things along. I ordered it online and it arrived very promptly within 3 days of ordering.
I massaged it in to my injured calf about 4 times a day for 10 days. When I next saw the sports physio he could not get over how quickly I was recovering. In the before and after pictures you can see the results for yourself – and this is within two weeks. I have gone from limping and finding it hard to get about to all the bruising gone and walking about okay.
I still cannot do impact exercises yet but I can go to the gym and go on the bike, rowing machine and cross trainer. I am now using the spray twice a day and would recommend anyone to give it a go if they have an injury – what have you got to lose, I did and it seemed to work wonders, and if the Physio is impressed with my recovery then that's another thumbs up.
Xtreme gym owner
Recovery Spray is definitely the best post workout recovery supplements I’ve ever had. I haven’t changed my post workout meals or shakes during the duration I have been using the spray which has really shown it's effectiveness. Prior to using the Recovery Spay I would suffer heavily from DOMS in certain body parts, notably my Hamstrings, quads and my Lats. I use the spray post workout and I also apply before I go to bed at night and its dramatically reduced my muscle soreness the next day.
I spend a lot of time travelling around in the car so my muscles don’t naturally get the stretch and relaxation it needs after a workout and this has helped me more than anything I’ve ever used, and I have used pretty much everything. I can’t see me going back to any post workout recovery product I’ve used before Recovery Spray.
The recovery spray… Wow! Can still feel a dull ache sometimes but nothing like I would expect from certain workouts. After a leg workout last week I sprayed quads and hamstrings but left calves. Quads and hamstrings where the session was mainly focused on were fine but calves were in pieces. Also use it with a client who has a poor recovery rate due to him refusing to sleep properly and he is raving about it. Muscle soreness has dropped dramatically and his ability and desire to push harder in sessions due to this has also increased.
Also I think the simplicity of just spraying on these aids is genius, big fan here!
Lover of strongman training
I'm no athlete, just a guy off the street that likes to train hard and lift heavy. There is NO WAY I would have been able to train at high intensity again on my next training day had it not been for the recovery spray. To see how well it's working try using it on just one leg…
Having used the recovery spray a number of times I do feel this does work 100% my muscles don't ache as much. It does give a tingly sensation but nothing too bad. I made the mistake of spraying it on my legs then jumping into a sauna for 5 minutes hoping it would dry quicker. It made my skin go very red. It didn't burn or itch in fact it made the muscles feel really warm. Not sure if this was a wise move but nether the less I felt the muscles were getting good heat on them. Either way top product and I'm a converted man.
I'm not one for using many supplements but thought I would give the spray a go as a result of what I have heard from others. Being a cyclist when the weather is crap I have been training indoors on the turbo and it something I hate, stuck inside for a hard hour is killer for me and all I want to do is get off the bike. I used the Recovery Spray for the first time Sunday after 6 hours on the bike and usually on Monday I have big time fatigue, but my legs weren't that bad so I did a leg session in the gym which i haven't done before. So i will be buying again.
Owner of Muscle Merchants
Wow is all can say. I've been using it on one side of the body and not the other and there is a marked difference in DOMS and tendon soreness. The product is a winner for me.
Cyclist and gym goer
Thought I'd share my experience using the recovery spray for others benefit. Since using the Recovery Spray, the first 2 weeks I wasn't convinced of any benefit, so I decided to push myself and test it further, after a blast of a leg session on a Tuesday I decided to go for it and on Wednesday went for a hilly 15.5 mile bike ride which hurt more than the leg session in terms of training intensity, then on Thursday I did a strength session with mainly Olympic lifts and lots of squats. So over 3 days I slaughtered my legs far more than normal… but did I suffer?! NO cause I used the Recovery Spray after each session, which has now enabled me to up my training voume and intensity across the week which means I can now make more progress than I was making before as I did struggle with recovery with too many hard sessions.
To make sure it wasn't a one off I did the same leg session I did on the Tuesday again, didn't use Recovery Spray, and now I have DOMS and there is no way I'm going out on the same 15.5 mile bike ride up hills, maybe just an easy flat ride instead. Thanks for developing products that work, I was definitely skeptical at 1st, but glad I took the plunge and tried them.
With the Recovery Spray it's been highly beneficial as I train a lot at the weekends, weight lifting on both Saturday and Sunday, when I 1st used it I felt I performed even better on Sunday than I did on Saturday, and I put this down to simply feeling less sore and better recovered. I also have a painful muscle in one of my forearms, few sprays of Recovery Spray rubbed in makes the pain and tightness go away after training, which allows it to not interfere with my normal day to day life.
Overall fan of the product, sold me.
Overall I definitely feel I recover quicker and feel fresher using Recovery Spray, I'm not a big DOMS sufferer as my training is always varied without too much volume in a specific area. But when I do put in a big chest or leg session I definitely then notice the difference. With playing both rugby and being in the gym I use it a lot and still find it a cost effective product, so happy customer.
MMA fighter & gym goer
I was again very curious about this product in the way it was supposed to lessen the effect of DOMS after a workout as I suffer quite bad. I use ZMA regularly but nothing directed to the skin. I hoped that if there was a reduction in soreness then surely that was a massive thing, especially for me. I think that if you use the maximum sprays onto the skin, it really does help with soreness. I did a leg session yesterday and today I should be hurting a lot as normal, but I can still walk up the stairs without crawling like a toddler, so it is definitely working.
Since using RS my sleep has been even better, I always use ZMA and that, combined with RS, I have been waking up still quite heavy eyed, like I have had a deep sleep. I work shifts so my sleep isn’t always the longest or the best, but I have noticed a significant difference in the type of sleep I have, and the dreams. It's a great product and am converted!
RS has absolutely helped my recovery, to be honest I was a bit sceptical but wow, seriously cool! I do tend to get quite heavy muscle soreness, sometimes for days after my session, but after the first time using a minimal dose I awoke the next morning with only very slight discomfort. I have since increased the dosage and it works a treat, smells good, feels smooth as well so a win all round.
Sleep us something I am trying to get on top of at the moment so have a diary logging sleep, food etc and yes, although my sleep after using RS is the same amount of time as normal, I have noticed that my sleep is deep and unbroken, no waking to use the loo or rolling about, thus my recovery has been better. 100% I will use RS again, it significantly reduces my recovery time therefore it will help me reach my fitness goals sooner due to a faster return to the gym.
Runner & boxer
I was looking for reduced muscle soreness so I could work, live, and train without any issue the following day. And I definitely notice the improvement in my recovery and level of muscle soreness. Post run (after drying legs) & post gym session it is easy to rub in & leave on while sorting out my shake before showering. I feel this has a bigger impact on my legs for recovery than compression shorts which I have traditionally been using to improve my recovery.
Recovery Spray coupled with compression shorts & the right nutrition I am now sure that I can get a 10 mile run in the day after a squat session rather than being sore & thus considering a shortened run or missed session, so it's 100% improving my adherence to training too.
Having used Recovery Spray for a week now I can say it is definitely meeting my expectations of improved recovery and improved sleep quality. Currently I train 6 days a week with weights, 3 days lower rep compound lifts followed by 3 day higher rep isolation exercises. I have zero soreness in any muscle group and my lifts are progressing with each week. The time taken to get to sleep for me has improved dramatically - I spray RS on before bed and I am asleep within a half hour, whereas I have taken hours in the past. The quality of sleep must have improved as Im a much less tired when I wake and I am experiencing more lucid dreams.
Gym goer, Torn pec case study
Now I dunno if it's from the magnesium spray or ice or a case of using the both, I've had two physio treatments and another today. But last week I ruptured my pec, literally couldn't move my arm in any direction because of the agony I was in, the pain was horrendous, I'd tense my pec accidentally and it would cripple me and want to scream out loud. I've taken no anti inflammatory tablets what so ever, nothing. Just been applying Recovery Spray twice a day to the area and icing three times a day since last Saturday when it happened.
My recovery and range of movement has improved massively, arm being able to raise straight out in front of me and 40% more lateral rotation. I think you can see from the picture it wasn't a minor incident. I thought I'd let you know what I think has benefitted me as the physio's are astounded at my recovery rate, a torn pec would traditionally not be healing this quickly with increased range of movement and a reduction in pain.
