What makes it Awesome?
Rich, creamy and packed with flavour
No unnecessary ingredients, just whey
Works a treat in cooking as well as in shakes
How do you choose a good whey protein powder? We believe it all comes down to the quality of the dairy used, the filtration process when making it, the taste, and overall versatility of the finished product. But we’d like to start by saying with 100% honesty what whey protein is, because we feel many companies over hype its purpose.
Whey protein is not essential to the diet; it’s not even necessary for people that exercise. Supplement companies will tell you whey protein is vital post-workout, or before a workout, or at any time of the day. Not true. We see whey protein as a great way of adding protein into your diet in a convenient, flexible and cost-effective way. After all, you can get protein from many food sources, such as chicken, eggs, tofu, beans, beef and fish, to name a few. So yes you can use it pre-workout, or post-workout, or as part of a meal, recipe or smoothie, but it’s not essential, it’s just a super handy and cost effective form of protein.
Fill the Gaps in Your Diet with Whey Protein
If whey protein is not essential, why would you buy it? Whey protein is a diet top-up. It is for those moments when you are short on time and need a quick breakfast smoothie, or don’t have time to eat after the gym and you want to grab a shake with a banana to tie you over. It’s for the times when you’re looking to add protein to cooking things like pancakes or porridge. Perhaps you like to use it as a snack when you’re on the move and don’t have to think about food. Our Whey protein is also very cost-effective as a protein source, at only 95p per serving. It’s also why we use whey concentrate over whey isolate, it’s got a more enjoyable and creamy texture and is just as effective at delivering protein to your muscles, despite what companies claim. And it’s cheaper; win-win!
Having a daily protein intake of 1.5-2g per kg of body weight is beneficial for satiety, recovery, body composition, health and weight loss. This is why many active people or individuals on a diet often use supplemental protein to boost their protein intake cost-effectively and conveniently.
So, why choose Awesome Whey Protein?

Life’s too short for lousy tasting whey protein, try Awesome Whey Protein, we promise you won’t regret it.

Do you need protein shakes if you want to build muscle?
Maybe. A few key questions are important here, such as do you have enough protein in your diet already? Could a protein shake help you meet your needs, or tide you over at breakfast time when you want something quick or after the gym, so you don’t crack and recovery quicker? Do you want a protein shake because it’s cheaper than whole food protein and cost is an issue for you? Could a protein powder be a useful baking ingredient to add to your pantry? All plausible reasons to choose a shake and have it handy for when its needed/wanted. So, it’s like the above scenario, it’s not that anything is needed per se, it’s a case of can it be beneficial for you and your goals. And weighing up your options and situation only you will be able to answer that. But if not, we’ll help. If you’re unsure reach out to us and we’ll help.
Am I safe to consume this multiple times a day?
Yes, whey protein can be taken multiple times per day. We recommend you stick to whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible and so advise you do not rely on Awesome Whey Protein for the majority of your protein intake, but this approach is not directly harmful and may allow for greater flexibility and convenience, and of course it can be cost effective
Am I able to use this while pregnant?
There is no reason to avoid using Awesome Whey Protein to make up some of your protein intake during pregnancy unless your GP or health care professional has said otherwise.
Do you do a mass gain version?
We don’t provide a mass gainer shake and never will. Mass gainers typically cost a lot even though they only consist of whey protein and a large amount of carbohydrate (which is very cheap). This makes them popular with supplement companies as they allow for a large profit margin. As we want to promote honesty and integrity, this goes against our values. With that said we absolutely believe that high calorie shakes are a brilliant tool for weight gain phases and so don’t wish to discourage their use entirely – only the premade ones! Using Awesome Whey Protein to make high calorie smoothies with milk, nut butter, oats, fruit and even ice cream can achieve the same goal with a lot more personalisation and, depending on the ingredients, nutritional value. So if you want a weight gainer shake, mix Awesome Whey Protein with milk, make a smoothie, or eat it with some nuts or other high calorie food.
Is the sweetener sucralose safe?
Currently the full body of evidence for the safety of sucralose indicates that it is perfectly safe to consume. Customers regularly ask why not use stevia? This is because stevia, in our opinion, tastes awful, and we want our products to taste awesome. So we use sucralose over stevia. Some individuals with IBS can get irritation from some sweeteners, so be mindful if this is you. Click the following link to read the most up to date research on sucralose.
Does whey protein have a laxative effect?
Whey protein does not have a laxative effect. If you suffer from G.I distress after consuming this product we recommend speaking to your GP as this could be a sign of lactose intolerance. Otherwise there should be no reason for this effect.
Can this help me lose fat?
This product is high in protein (so it helps promote satiety) and is low calorie. No supplement can cause weight loss on its own, but this product can certainly help you achieve the calorie deficit necessary to reach that goal.
Can I cook with it?
Awesome Whey Protein is perfectly safe for cooking. Neither the protein content or the flavour will be negatively affected.
Do I have to drink it straight after mixing?
Awesome whey protein can be mixed up and then consumed within a few days provided it’s kept in the fridge and re-shaken before consumption. Whey protein is a milk-based product, and so you’ll be VERY aware if it’s gone off! We recommend consumption within 48 hours assuming refrigeration, but ideally, for freshness, enjoy soon after mixing.
Do I use milk or water? How much?
Your use of milk, milk substitute, or water, and the precise amount, is individual. We recommend you stick to 200-400ml of liquid per serving, and pay attention to the additional calories if you opt for something other than water. Milk or a milk substitute will always provide a better richer flavour, whereas water will reduce the calories – the decision is yours! As a final note - when developing our flavours we did it with water, so does it taste awesome with water….yes!
Can I have this if I’m lactose intolerant?
The lactose content of whey protein is very, very low. With less than 3g per serving, Awesome Whey Protein will be tolerated well by most even with lactose intolerance. If you have very sensitive lactose intolerance, however, we recommend you opt for Awesome Vegan Protein instead and avoid the chance of an issue.
Is Awesome Whey Protein vegan friendly?
No, but it is gluten free.
