Because electrolyte blends were either just that - electrolytes on their own, or with added carbohydrates, we felt frustrated with the lack of flexibility with our own needs to optimally fuel a varied training program. What we wanted was an electrolyte blend that tasted AWESOME, with a plain unflavoured carb powder for when we needed the carbs in the formula. So we created a tri-carb formula to sit alongside Awesome Hydrate, to be added when you needed it in your training. Creating true hydration and intra-workout fuelling flexibility, for less cost.
Flavourless, but will taste sweet when added to water. When added to Awesome Hydrate it makes it mildly sweeter in taste.
How to use
Simply add to your water alongside Awesome Hydrate and shake well. For continuous exercise lasting longer than 60 minutes it's recommended to consume 25-75g of carbohydrate per hour depending on the duration and intensity of your training. A 40ml scoop will give you a 25g serving.

It’s well accepted that carbohydrate intake during prolonged exercise helps improve performance output and capacity. The current research shows that 60g carbs per hour of prolonged exercise is beneficial, though some evidence now suggests this number could be higher. This study shows the upper limit could be closer to 100g per hour for mixed glucose and fructose due to higher oxidation rates of mixed carbohydrates such as that used in Awesome Endure. This study shows that there are benefits of intra-workout carbs even for shorter bouts of exercise around 45-60 minutes if the intensity is high enough.
For speedy recovery of glycogen stores, when repeated bouts of exercise are required within a short rest period, post-exercise carbohydrate intake of 1.2g per kg body weight per hour has been recommended here.

The ISSN recommends 20-60g of carbohydrate per hour of continuous exercise that will last over 60 minutes in total duration. So if you are training at a low to moderate intensity for over 60 minutes, use one scoop of Awesome Endure with one scoop of Awesome Hydrate, and if its high intensity, use two scoops of Awesome Endure with one scoop of Awesome Hydrate, per hour of exercise.
While there is no need to do this because resistance training rarely depletes glycogen to such a significant degree, there is no harm in this and it can promote better hydration. On top of that, there is some evidence that consuming carbohydrate during a training session results in that session causing a smaller stress response – and this may improve volume tolerance over time and less stress on your immune system from exercise.

But as soon as exercise becomes quite intense, is in hot conditions, for a prolonged period of time, or you’re someone looking to push themselves (sweet drinks may improve performance) then it is beneficial to support training with intraworkout carbohydrates. Not only does this improve hydration, it also helps maintain adequate glucose availability, avoiding unnecessary amounts of late-session fatigue. It's why sports drinks are so popular, they increase and prolong performance, and this is a cheap, flexible way to fuel your adventures and training sessions.
