If you are eating a well-balanced diet with a wide variety of foods and not in an energy deficit then you don't HAVE to take a multi-vitamin, no, but how many of us are able to do that every single day? A multivitamin is like an insurance policy, plugging any holes that may be present in your nutrition on a day to day basis, meaning you’ll avoid any negatives associated with insufficiency. As you can see from the nutritional information there are a lot of micronutrients at the research recommended optimal dose in these capsules. Many companies say "one a day", but this is impossible if you want all the listed micronutrients in the optimal doses. We built this product 100% in alignment with the research, hence our 4 capsule serving size. This is especially important for active people that are often deficient in key nutrients, like magnesium, vitamin D and B vitamins. Taking less will still be beneficial, of course, but the full dose is what we suggest. This can be broken up in to 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening if you prefer. People of low body weight and thus in need of less overall calories could choose to take less also.

The capsules are roughly 11mm long with a diameter of roughly 5mm, the size of astandard paracetamol capsule.

We would not recommend that anyone under the age of 12 takes Awesome Defence due to the high fat-soluble vitamin and mineral content. Between ages 12-17 a half dose would be appropriate, so 2 capsules.

Yes 100%, when supplementing with magnesium for example, not taking oxide or stearate is key, magnesium citrate is absorbed far better, so it is a little more money, but you are absorbing more of it - this is why we use it. Similarly, calcium carbonate is a well absorbed form and so while it may be a little more money than cheaper versions, your body is actually able to make use of what you’re using! Every micronutrient in Awesome Defence is from the most bio-available form according to the existing body of research, because we're focused on quality and optimal health.

Many multivitamins are built around minimal dose and basic sufficiency. Defence is designed to provide a more comprehensive daily formula with research-aligned levels of key nutrients such as vitamin D, magnesium, zinc and B vitamins.

Cheaper multivitamins are certainly better than taking nothing at all, especially as multi-vitamins can be a good health insurance policy, but most are low dosed – especially when it comes to key nutrients like vitamin D. This, or they miss key nutrients altogether, while what is included can often be in a poorly absorbed form, like magnesium stearate. This is one area where you really do get what you pay for.
