Good health

Defence + Omega + Joints = a healthy trio.

This is a great question, and it's primarily due to the strength of our product. If you search online for ‘Curcumin supplements’ you will often find large dosage claims on the label, with turmeric being listed in the ingredients. Turmeric is great, but it’s the active Curcuminoids (which represent around 3% of the powder) that you want. According to the research you need around 1500mg per day of curcumin for a product to be effective in join pain management (alongside Piperine, a black pepper extract that maximises absorption). A product with 2000mg of turmeric therefore only has around 60mg of curcumin, far less than you need!

This is also why our Awesome Joints is on the higher side in terms of cost, it’s one of the highest strength on the market because we follow the proven research, nothing else. We never take short cuts, and this is why Awesome Joints is the best in class. Feel free to have a search online and see, you'll find a lot of "High dose Turmeric" supplements disguised as Curcumin supplements. You'll get what you pay for.

The research shows it significantly enhances absorption when used at 30mg per 750mg of curcumin. It works by blocking the enzymes your body uses to break down Curcumin quickly after absorption, so we have added this to ensure our product is as effective as possible.

Briefly, Curcumin has been found to be useful for various inflammatory conditions including arthritic pain, but also shows great promise in helping those with PCOS-related insulin resistance and even Type 2 Diabetes.

Because Curcumin is an antioxidant and potent anti-inflammatory, the research is primarily focused around inflammation-related joint health, so if you are suffering from joint pain, for example if you have a joint condition like osteoarthritis, taking Curcumin could be a worthwhile try in alleviating some of your symptoms.

People that exercise a lot can also experience joint pain due to repetitive load on the joints, and so if this is you curcumin may be of benefit, too.

Beyond this, chronic inflammation can contribute to various other conditions that may appear less obvious. One systematic review of small trials and pilot studies found that curcumin was able to reduce markers of insulin resistance, leptin, and blood glucose levels in those with Type 2 diabetes.

Other research into PCOS-related insulin resistance found that curcumin improved glucose control and, while the evidence is still early, curcumin has even been found beneficial in depression with plausible mechanisms of action existing to explain why.

As always, we do not recommend using supplements in place of any medication (indeed many trials use curcumin as an adjunct therapy to improve outcomes alongside traditional medication). Always consult your doctor before use.
